Secure Linux/UNIX access with PuTTY and OpenSSH

In earlier posts namely SSH - Secure Shell and How to setup SSH Keys and Why?, I had explained how you can securely connect to a remote machine using SSH as well as enhance the security by using digital signatures instead of mere passwords.

Now Steve Friedl has written a paper called - Secure Linux/Unix access with Putty and OpenSSH which dwells on the topic of connecting between remote Windows and Linux machines using SSH.
Putty is a tiny ssh, telnet and secure FTP client for the windows platform and is known for its versatility and user friendliness. Steve takes the reader through the whole configuration process with aid of nice illustrations.

With more and more people logging on to the net, security has become an important factor even for home users. And transmitting your data using SSH and encryption is considered a safe habit by many.
