Ubuntu is a jewel among all linux distributions. It is easy to install on a wide variety of hardware spread across multiple architectures and it has an ever increasing fan following. In fact, it is listed as the most popular linux distribution at DistroWatch.com. In an earlier post I had covered ways of dual booting Ubuntu alongside Windows.
Now Jermey Jones describes his experiences in installing and configuring Ubuntu on his fairly recent Dell Insipiron 9300 laptop. And this is what he has to say about his experience...
"Overall, I am extremely pleased with the upgrade. My system has no hint of the brokenness that I have previously associated with OS upgrades. Perhaps the reason that I typically choose to reinstall rather than upgrade is my experience with broken systems after upgrading. As an aside, Ubuntu is an excellent, usable Linux distribution. I use it every day as my primary desktop at work and rarely find myself wishing for more."
